An initiative by the European Wool Exchange Foundation, offering knitting yarn made entirely from pure, traceable European sheep’s wool, specially created for therapeutic knitting and wellbeing.
Rikker Gyapjú is a traditional Hungarian family business based in Mözs, specializing in wool products since 1989. They provide raw materials for traditional crafts such as hand-knitting, weaving, and felting.
The founder, János Rikker, began wool spinning in 1987 in his cousin’s workshop. In 1989, he established his own independent wool spinning workshop with his wife.
Product Range
The company works primarily with merino wool to create various artisanal materials:
- Yarns: Available in different thicknesses and a wide variety of colors. Their collection includes natural white, natural brown, and various dyed shades.
- Felting & Spinning Materials: They offer both carded wool (loose, brushed fibers) and wool roving (combed strips) for needle or wet felting.
